In 2024 our Sacramento Mighty Writers wrote over 8,000 postcards from home for three campaigns. Two were for two Arizona state legislative candidates Sister District supported and both won!!!
Postcards can help increase name recognition and get out the vote. State leg races are won by narrow margins so every voter contact counts!

I am new to political activism, but am concerned enough about our democracy that I am following Michelle Obama's plea to #DoSomething. If you live in the Sacramento area and also would like to do something, sign up for our Mighty Writer volunteer list. We will send out details in May via email. Below are some answers to Frequently Asked Questions about our postcarding effort.

Who do I write? The information packet will contain a list of names and addresses for you to hand write on a postcard.
What do I say? The information packet will have a script approved by the campaign that we follow exactly. We are allowed to add colored boxes or highlights to emphasize the candidate’s name, vote date or other key points.
How many? I ask for people to sign up in increments of 25. If you want to do less, find a friend to do them with you!
How do I get a packet? In 2025 we will be providing the postcards. You can pick up on a front porch in Sacramento 95864 area. If that is a difficulty, we can arrange a delivery or alternate pick up spot.
How do I return cards? Same process in reverse … either drop off at the same spot or let us know if you need a pick-up.
What cards do I use? In 2025, due to compliance requirements, Sister District will be providing the postcards.
Tips for newbies? We have a one-page document with Postcard Writing Tips for new writers and also useful reminders for returning writers. You can request by e-mail.
How to sign up? E-mail us at postcardteam.sdp.sac@gmail.com indicating your interest and as soon as we have a postcard event or campaign sign-up available, we will send you an e-mail with the details.
What if I’m confused? Reach out to us at postcardteam.sdp.sac@gmail.com. We are always happy to answer questions about postcarding.
What stamps do I use? Forever postcard stamps are now 56 cents each. Postcard stamps purchased at previous prices are still good as long as they say Forever on them. You can order them at this link or go to your local post office. Order Stamps
